I Like Frogs and Flowers is a beautiful early reader about Mya and Manny, two friends who embark on a garden adventure filled with frogs, flowers and many garden creatures. There's lots to see and do on their journey, but each are drawn to very different things.
As the story begins, Manny would prefer climbing trees to a walk in the garden, but in a loving gesture agrees to explore with Mya. Written in third person, the reader becomes aware that the two friends are very different.
Flowers big and small, creatures soft and strong, butterflies and bees all make for detailed illustrations introducing opposite concepts, seek and find moments and encouraging deeper parent-child conversation about the importance of loving one another. Will Mya and Manny remain friends?
Created with collage art illustration, the colorful textured images will engage your young reader to return to the pages again and again with a concluding reminder of God's love for everyone.

I was inspired by Eric Carle's collage art picture books when our boys were little. Layering paint on tissue paper captivated my interest and my heart.
Fast forward several years and I'm returning to my roots as a graphic designer; creating collage art with a multitude of colorful paint layers on tissue paper textured with lines and shapes then cut to fit pencil drawn illustrations. I hope I Like Frogs and Flowers is among the books you keep and share with your children, grandchildren and all the "littles" in your life for years to come.
